Queue-and-buy frenzy hits Cork

Cork is not far behind Dublin in the queue-and-buy frenzy for new apartments and houses in the city

Cork is not far behind Dublin in the queue-and-buy frenzy for new apartments and houses in the city. Last Thursday an entire housing estate sold out and over the weekend Frank Gormley's company, Howard Holdings, sold 36 apartments in its Crawford Hall development beside Jury's Hotel. The one, two and three-bedroom apartments made between £85,000 and £185,000 - showing that the southern capital is fast catching up with Dublin on prices too.
