Co Kildare: from €225,000 Bank holiday or no, viewers at the launch of a new housing development in Maynooth queued overnight in their cars to snap up the first 45 houses last weekend.

Coonan Real Estate Alliance of Maynooth and Ballygoran Developments were delighted with the sell-out at Griffin Rath Manor and believe they will have no difficulty in shifting the remaining 140. The next phase goes on the market in September.

Variety proved a winner: this is the first mixed development in the Maynooth area for years, with apartments, duplexes, townhouses, semis and detached houses on offer. Prices ranged from €225,000 for a two-bed apartment to €700,000 for five-bed detached houses.
