It was built in about 1975 and we have refurbished since buying it in 1991. We have re-plumbed the house, improved the insulation, landscaped the gardens back and front and put in a tarmac drive. Why are you moving?
Our children have grown up and we are downsizing but hope to stay in the area which is wonderful as it offers a country lifestyle by the sea.
What is the best thing about it?
The spectacular views of Waterford estuary. During the Tall Ships Race we enjoyed the full spectacle of the ships from our livingroom.
The kitchen is roomy enough for a family get together and the garden is large. There is even room for a tennis court.
The house is about a mile from the village of Dunmore East so during the peak tourist season you can escape yet you can be in the village, beach, restaurant and harbour within five minutes.
And the neighbourhood?
It is just a short drive to Waterford Airport, Waterford Regional Hospital and Waterford city. Tramore and Woodstown beach are a 10-minute drive away.
Dunmore East offers many amenities for sports enthusiasts and families, including an idyllic harbour, a beautiful beach, award-winning restaurants, a sailing club, golf club and quaint thatched cottages in the heart of the village.
The winter population can be as low as 1,000 so the village is wonderfully quiet and is ideal for cosy walks on the pier and the beach.
