Co Kilkenny: €1.75m: Buyers looking for a manageable country house in the Kilkenny area will be interested in the sale of Moon Hall near Kilkenny city.

The six-bedroom house on 77 acres has a quiet countryside setting about 4.5 miles on the Dublin side of Kilkenny, 66 miles from the capital.

It's scheduled for auction through HOK Country on July 6th when selling agent David Ashmore expects bids over €1.75 million for the entire property, which includes woodland and extensive road frontage.

Alternatively, Moon Hall will be sold in lots with the main house and outbuildings on 28 acres expected to make over €1.1 million and the remaining parcels of land estimated at €650,000.

It's a new house, built in restrained Georgian style and finished to a high standard inside, with handsome parquet flooring throughout the ground floor rooms, Kilkenny marble fireplaces and timber sash windows.

The layout is traditional with well-proportioned reception rooms leading off a large hallway with parquet flooring. There are two formal reception rooms, a drawingroom and a diningroom, both with Kilkenny marble fireplaces. The diningroom has French doors leading to a sunroom which in turn opens into the big country-style kitchen.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has a large en suite with a free-standing bath. The remaining bedrooms are on two further levels, including the large attic room, and these share two more bathrooms.
