DUBLIN 15: FROM €280,000A new phase of homes at Castlethorn Construction's Adamstown scheme in west Dublin comes to the market this week.
The Adamstown suburb is taking shape at a rapid pace. Planning permission was lodged last month for the town centre which will include 1,000 apartments, 60 shops, a primary care medical centre and a place of worship shared between four different churches.
The first two primary schools have been open since September 2007, planning permission has just been granted for a 1,000-pupil secondary school, due to open next September, and the first crèche is to open next month.

To coincide with this launch of 30 new apartments, duplexes and townhouses, show units will be on display this weekend.
Prices start at €280,000 for one-bedroom apartments and go up to €535,000 for four-bedroom terraced homes. Prices for the most part have remained static since the scheme was first launched in February 2006.
The scheme is geared at family living with 60 per cent of homes being either three or four-bedroom units.
In between these price points there is a good mix of home types and sizes with prices to suit most wallets including 65-84sq m (700-904sq ft) two-bedroom apartments priced from €300,000. Three-bedroom duplexes with 97-112sq m (1,044-1,205sq ft) of living space start at €345,000 per unit; and three-bedroom terraced homes with 115sq m (1,238sq ft) start at €425,000.
Adamstown is being developed under the Government's Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) principles, which ensure that developers build infrastructure, such as schools, roads and community facilities, in tandem with the housing.
When complete it is anticipated that 30,000 people will live in the new district which is on the Dublin-Kildare railway line.
