Two remaining houses at Elsinore, a small development of detached houses in Delgany, Co Wicklow, are being offered for sale through Jackson Stops's Bray office. Prices are at the top end of the scale, with a fully fitted 4,000 sq ft showhouse selling for £895,000 (€1.14 million) and a second house for £1 million (€1.27 million).

Despite such formidable price tags, the Elsinore scheme of eight very glamorous houses has proved enormously successful and the first six houses are almost all occupied.

New residents include top business professionals and entertainment people.

The Elsinore development is conveniently located just past the church on the road to Killincarrig. One of the houses has been acquired by Christ Church, Delgany, for use as a rectory.

Developers Clayworth Investments and Dowling Homes have individualised interior layouts, so no two houses are exactly the same. An Art Deco look has been created by architect Martin Noone, with copious use of ash and oak and plenty of windows for maximum light.

The entrance hall is top-lit by a roof-high atrium overhung by a first-floor gallery. Off the hall are three tall-ceilinged reception rooms and a country-style kitchen/breakfastroom with cream hand-made units.

Black granite worktops, ivory coloured tiled floors and mosaic splashbacks combine to create a very stylish work space. A full range of Neff kitchen equipment is included. French doors open from the breakfast area to a south-east facing paved terrace.

The interconnecting sittingroom and diningroom have two French doors to the garden and the fireplace is of timber and brushed aluminium. Doors open from the reception rooms to a large hardwood conservatory with tiled flooring. There is also a family room.

All five bedrooms are double in size and three have en suite bath rooms. The main bedroom is particularly large, with an island dressingroom separating off the sleeping quarters and a full en suite bathroom with shower.

Two rooms on the top floor have a variety of possible uses. In the house intended as a rectory, these rooms have been fitted out as a library and study. Others have installed a home office and gymnasium.

Of the two houses for sale, the one costing £895,000 (€1.14 million) is fitted out and ready for occupation, with hardwood floors and carpeting and the garden is landscaped. The other house, priced at £1 million (€1.27 million), is under construction and will available by December next.
