The final phase of Castle Dawson, a development of four-bedroom detached houses in Maynooth, Co Kildare, goes on sale this weekend priced from £199,950.
Just 18 houses are left on the site, which is located on the Rathcoffey Road on the southern side of the town. Most of the 106 houses already sold are now occupied. Prices have risen by £20,000 in the intervening period.
Purchasers in the main are families upgrading to more spacious accommodation, says selling agent Gerard Brady, who will be manning the showhouse this Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The presence of the university in the town should attract viewers and the Arrow rail service to the city is a bonus for commuters.
Exteriors are of half-brick with a box bay window at ground floor level and a tiled porch overhang. Inside, there is a fairly narrow hallway with a guest lavatory off it. The sittingroom is larger than average and piped for a gas fire. At the back of the house there is a spacious open-plan family living area. This includes a diningroom, dayroom and interconnecting maple Shaker-style kitchen with a plumbed utility room off it.
On the first floor all four bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and the main bedroom is en suite. The family bathroom is at this level and there is a large walk-in airing cupboard on the landing. The bedrooms have tongue-and groove floors. Front and rear gardens come seeded, with a concrete patio area outside the diningroom and kitchen.
