Development work has just begun on a 220,000 sq ft development fronting on to the inner relief road in the town. To coincide with the launch, Atlantic Homecare has agreed contracts to lease the first building of 45,000 sq ft plus garden centre at a rent of over £10 (€12.70) per sq ft. It will be Atlantic's 14th store in the Republic.

Letting agents Hamilton Osborne King and PB Gunne are quoting rents of £15 (€19.05) per sq ft for the 14 remaining buildings planned for part of the 70-acre site. An office and industrial scheme is also planned for the park which is being developed by the the Northern Ireland-based company, Finnabair Estates.

In Longford town, ESB retail is the latest company to move into the the newly developed Longford Retail Park.

The company will be paying £8 a foot for the 7,000 sq ft unit which will alongside Stauntons Inter Sport and Aldi. The park will eventually have 45,000 sq ft. Michal Conroy of Hamilton Osborne King is handling lettings.
