Regency Court on Friary Street in Kilkenny is a new development of mostly two -bedroom apartments with prices starting at £142,000 (€180,303). There are also some three bedroom apartments in the development which should broaden its appeal to families. Prices for the three bed units start at £174,000 (€220,934).

The first apartments should be ready for occupation by spring 2002 with overall completion anticipated for late summer. They are currently being sold off the plans by agents Hooke & MacDonald.

The development has been designed by well-known Irish architect Sam Stephenson. The design is smart and contemporary looking with three storeys over ground level. A basement and ground floor area provides car-parking.

In all there will be 40 apartments in Regency Court, which is divided into three separate buildings. This layout means residents will have the feeling of living in a very small scheme. A lift services each block.

The apartments are well designed and fitted out with built -in wardrobes in the bedrooms, good quality kitchen units and tiling in the bathroom and kitchen. An attractive feature is the double glazed hardwood units. All residents will have their own security intercom.

Residents will have access to a central landscaped courtyard.

Friary Street is very much in the heart of Kilkenny City and close to all that city's many amenities. The developer are Byrne Projects and the builders are the Tipperary firm of Clancy Construction.
