The wraps come off Ballymore's latest residential development in Naas tomorrow when a block of two-bedroom apartments are launched to coincide with the holiday weekend. Prices for the larger than usual homes will range from £150,000 (€190,460) to £175,000 (€222,204), according to Sinead McEvoy of Colm McEvoy estate agents.

Six of the 18 units have already been sold off the plans, one of them to Irish international soccer star Niall Quinn. The remainder are likely to sell over the weekend mainly to owner-occupiers looking for comfortable apartments in a lovely rural setting within easy walking distance of Naas town.

Gerry Whelan of Ballymore Properties says that when the apartments in Oak Glade Court are sold, they will also be taking bookings for 56 more two-bedroom units which are to be available from September next. The units will be built in seven blocks on an elevated site.

The apartments now going for sale have been built in a courtyard layout at the front of the latest phase of Oak Glade, a high value housing scheme which sold out within two weeks. It has some of the best-designed new homes to have come on the market in recent years - a quality that should ensure significant capital appreciation.

One of the attractions of the location is that it is only a few minutes' drive off the Naas dual carriageway along the Blessington Road beside Craddockstown Golf Club.

The two-storey courtyard block has a brick, stone and render facade and large windows in the livingrooms. Interiors reflect the increasing demand for generous proportions - they vary in size from 756 to 996 sq ft. To accommodate modern lifestyles, high specification kitchens and bathrooms have been fitted.

The livingrooms have limestone fireplaces, fitted electric fires and double doors opening out on to balconies on first floor level and patios on the ground floor. There is a combined diningroom/kitchen.

The main bedroom comes with an en suite shower room and unlike most apartments in Dublin, there is a useful storage area off the entrance hall.

There will be plenty of car-parking spaces available in the landscaped courtyard.
