A large 18th century building, Old Connaught House, overlooking the Old Conna Golf Club at Ferndale Road, near Bray, Co Wicklow, has been sold at auction by DTZ Sherry FitzGerald for £4.3 million. There is full planning permission to convert the three-storey house into 25 apartments and to provide another 18 units in a new block on the 8.3 acres.
In Swords a site with planning permission for 36 apartments made £2.1 million at a Hamilton Osborne King auction. A housing site of 22 acres at Enfield, Co Meath, has been sold at auction to developer Paddy Mooney of High Degree Development for £6.7 million. Although other housing schemes in the area are generally around eight houses per acre, the planners will be under considerable pressure to allow a higher density to conform with the Government's revised guidelines. The joint selling agents were McDonald Brothers and Carey.
