Maura Higgins revealed as contestant on US Dancing With the Stars

Higgins shot to fame on dating show Love Island in 2019 and has since forged a career in the US

Former Love Island star Maura Higgins will take part in Dancing With the Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, it has been announced.

“I’m so excited, get me on the dancefloor, I want to win the trophy,” the Irish TV personality said of competing in the upcoming series.

“I’m so excited I’ve manifested this, please pray for me.”

Higgins shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show Love Island in 2019 but has since forged a career in the US, where she hosts the spin-off of the US version of Love Island, Aftersun.

She also recently competed in the US version of The Traitors, where she finished runner-up as a faithful.

She made headlines for forming a close bond with fellow contestant Rob Rausch, who was a traitor and ultimately stole the prize money in the final, leaving her shocked.

Before her time on The Traitors, the Longford native featured on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here in 2024 where she finished seventh.

This year is turning out to be another one for Higgins who made her debut on the Golden Globes red carpet in January, and later made an apperance on the Baftas carpet. - PA
