In a report headed "Tobacco firms `target young with added flavours' " in yesterday's editions, the Department of Health was said to have been satisfied with the information supplied by some major cigarette manufacturers. The sentence should have read: "Although the Department of Health insisted this was not a satisfactory response, the firms argued that the disclosure of such details [constituents of each branded product] was commercially sensitive." The error occurred in the editing process.
Where errors occur it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
