O'REILLY'S auctioneers are including, a late 19th century diamond necklace in its sale of jewellery next Wednesday afternoon at the firm's premises on Upper Exchange Street, Dublin. With a total weight of diamonds of approximately 28 carats, the necklace is expected to fetch £12,000-£15,000.

The impressive selection of pieces in the sale also includes an Edwardian diamond solitaire of three carats, with diamond baguelle shoulders (£10,000-£12,000), and another solitaire diamond of 2.5 carats is expected to make £4,500-£5,000. Both a Victorian five stone diamond ring and a three stone diamond ring of four carats from the same era are estimated to make £6,000-£7,000, and a pair of diamond solitaire earrings, each two carats, have an estimate of £7,000-£8,000.

Finally, a large emerald ring - its stone of 6.9 carats - set with diamonds comes with an estimate of £5,000-£6,000.
