Watch: truck crashes into Dart level crossing gates

Drivers and rail passengers experienced significant delays as damaged gates removed

Drivers and rail passengers experienced significant delays in Dublin after a truck damaged level crossing gates in Sandymount on Wednesday.

North and south bound Dart and Commuter services were delayed by up to 30 minutes as a result of the incident. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route as repairs are ongoing.

Services have since resumed although Irish Rail has warned of delays.

A spokesman for Irish Rail said the truck, which was transporting multiple cars, crashed into and damaged the gates before driving away.
