The company behind it is back with a new version, one that has a pocket-sized eBike battery similar in size to a large smartphone. Launching next month, the 250W pack weighs 700g, can be charged in an hour and gives you enough range for your daily commute. It is also flight safe, so you can take your bike travelling and stash the battery in your hand luggage. It means you can transform your old favourite bike into an electric version simply by changing out the wheel, adding the pedal sensor and battery connector, and charging it up. The company is predicting the new kit will be a game changer for the industry, because it is lighter, smaller and more affordable than other eBikes on the market. More than 40,000 Swytch kits have been shipped wince 2017, featuring the company’s original battery pack; Swytch is predicting the new kit will drive global sales of 50,000 kits in a year.
