Abbey Travel said yesterday it took just six hours to sell its entire allocation of tickets, plane seats and accommodation for the Manchester United versus Bayern Munich Champions' League final in Barcelona next month. The company said it was the only major travel agent with guaranteed tickets, but that it had been forced to charge £949 (€1,205) for 200 two-night packages because the ticket sellers, charter airlines and hotels were charging far more than they normally would.
