A Portadown plastics manufacturer is to cut 77 jobs as part of "a restructuring programme". Polarcup, which recently spent over £7.5 million sterling on new plant and equipment, employs 369 people in the manufacture of plastic containers for the dairy market.

Its operations director, Mr Johnston Redpath, said the redundancies were the result of a need to make the business more competitive.
