Secondary students wrongly believe they need to attain more Leaving Certificate points to study Physics or Computer Studies at third level, than for other courses, according to a new survey. The survey commissioned by the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Awareness Programme, found people over-estimate the levels of points required for science degree courses. The points requirements for many are actually lower than those for arts in nearly all major third level institutions.
