Mr Michael Cummins has been appointed chief executive of Cerebral Palsy Ireland following the retirement of Mr Dermot Ward. Mr Cummins was previously chief executive of the Campbell-Bewley group and has held senior positions with Guinness Ireland and Irish Distillers.

Ms Barbara Patton has been elected chairwoman of the Marketing Institute. She is currently general manager, marketing, with Irish Permanent and previously worked for Guinness, Showerings and AIB Capital Markets.

Mason Hayes & Curran solicitors has appointed Ms Gillian Mc-Namara senior solicitor in its commercial department. She joins the firm from ISOCOR BV, the provider of Internet and directory software solutions.

Mr Michael O'Reilly has been appointed finance director of DDFH&B, the advertising agency. A certified accountant, he is the vice-president of the ACCA Leinster Society. He is also a director of Mindshare Media.

ADC Telecommunications has announced that Mr John Boyle, Mr John Sidgmore and Mr John Blanchard, directors of Saville Systems, have been appointed to its board, subject to completion of ADC's acquisition of the Irish-registered software company which is headquartered in Galway.

Mr Brian Duffy is Guinness Ireland's new managing director, succeeding Mr Shaun Holiday. Mr Duffy was previously the managing director a Desnoes & Geddes, a Guinness subsidiary company.

Motorsport Ireland, the new marketing and administration branch of the Royal Irish Automobile Club (RIAC), has appointed Mr Oisin O Briain communications officer.

Mr Garry Kennedy has been appointed national accounts manager of Boots Healthcare.
