It was (indigo) blue shirt day for the big, and bigger, boys at Indigo's launch of its free Internet access service last week. Making the announcement out in the sunshine at Dun Laoghaire Harbour, Indigo managing director Mark Beggs stood in his blue shirt at the microphone pretending the free access announcement was all a big secret, while behind him the banners covering the "free Internet access" placards fluttered upwards in the pleasant breeze, laying bare the news before its time. Much bigger blue-shirt boy Mick McCarthy, after readjusting the microphone about a foot upwards ("Sorry Mark, I'm slightly taller than you are"), couldn't quite seem to figure out what he was doing promoting Internet access anyway. And while the service is called "gofree", many were amused - if not bemused - to discover the access CDs cost 99 pence.
