Ulster Bank has introduced an easy-access deposit account called "RSVP Anytime" which offers a 4.25 per cent gross/compound annual return (CAR) guaranteed to be at least 0.5 per cent above the European Central Bank base rate until January 1st, 2001. The gross figure does not reflect a deduction for Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT).

No notice is required for withdrawals but a minimum of £500 (€635) applies. A special Freefone number provides customers with access to account information daily between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. The minimum deposit is £5,000 and maximum is £100,000.
