Internet users have until midnight tonight to switch their browsers to the new, reducedrate numbers for access to email and the World Wide Web, Telecom Eireann said yesterday. From Sunday, users whose computers dial the old local access numbers will either receive a busy signal, or have to pay full local call rates instead of the Internet rate. Telecom Eireann introduced the reduced rate in July as a way of encouraging Internet use; calls cost 35p per 15 minutes between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and 11p for 15 minutes from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Some Internet service providers (ISPs) use several numbers, so customers should check which is the appropriate one. The main ISP access numbers are:

Anu - 1891 161 161

Connect - 1891 160 160

Club Internet - 1891 140 140

Elive - 1891 147 147

Indigo - 1891 110 110

IOL - 1891 121 121

Tinet - 1891 150 150
