Dell Computer chief executive, Michael Dell who employs 450 people in Bray, Co Wicklow is among private investors who have ploughed $3.5 million into Texas-based Jato Technologies. Jato is developing computer chips for networking devices. Executives of the company did not disclose how much Dell personally invested, but said most of the $3.5 million came from him. Dell Computer is not involved in the investment, Jato said. Jato will use the money to continue developing its chips based on the so-called gigabit Ethernet standard.
