FYFFES will be indirectly involved in a new joint venture company in Britain, Fresh Fruit - Terminal (Sheerness). This company will use a new 160 metre long berth with supporting temperature controlled storage and distribution complex to be provided by Port of Sheerness, Medway, at a cost of £35 million.

The joint venture company will be equally owned by Port of Sheerness and Fresh Fruit Services (FFS). FFS is fresh produce management processing and distribution company owned by Capespan International, Fyffes, Superior International, MacLeod McCombe and other fruit distributors.

The new joint venture followed an agreement between the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company - the parent company of Port of Sheerness - and Capespan and FFS.
