AIB not to pay June dividends

AIB has said the “dividend stopper” mechanism that precluded it from paying a dividend to shareholders in December will also stop payments due this month.

In a statement issued to the Irish Stock Exchange yesterday, AIB said: “The semi-annual non-cumulative distribution otherwise payable on 14 June 2011 and the annual non-cumulative distribution otherwise payable on 16 June 2011 will also not be paid on the due dates.”
