The Republic's trade surplus rose 46 per cent in February to £1.2 billion (€1.5 billion) according to preliminary figures from the Central Statistic Office. It follows a fall of 23 per cent in the previous month. The fall in January was due to a decline in exports to £4 billion and an increase in imports to £3.2 billion.
