The 12 members of the board of Enterprise Ireland, the new state agency for enterprise development, were announced yesterday by the Tanaiste, Ms Harney.

The new agency has been formed from what was formerly the Irish Trade Board, Forbairt and the industrial training division of FAS, in order to provide an integrated developmental support service to Irish business.

The board is being headed by Mr Pat Molloy, the former chief executive of the Bank of Ireland. Mr Molloy was appointed chairman of Forbairt last February.

The other board members are: Ms Veronica Perdisatt, general manager of EMC Ireland; Mr David Dilger, chief executive of Greencore; Mr Kieran McGowan, outgoing chief executive of IDA Ireland; Ms Heather Ann McSharry, marketing manager of Boots Healthcare; Mr Barry O'Halloran, managing director of COCOM International; Mr Dan Flinter, chief executive designate of Enterprise Ireland; Mr Ned Costello, a principal officer with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment; Ms Miriam O'Callaghan, director of finance and marketing with Callaghan Engineering; Mr Timothy Collins, a director of Collins Consultancy Services; Mr Gus Fitzpatrick, a member of the outgoing board of An Bord Trachtala; and Mr Brian Kearney, executive chairman of Project Management Group.
