After last week’s stock market meltdown, investors will be hoping that European authorities made progress over the weekend on agreeing a unified approach to tackling the debt crisis that threatens to engulf Italy and Spain.
Markets will also be closely watching US economic data due out this week for any indication as to whether or not the world’s largest economy is slipping back into recession.
