Aer Lingus hopes to meet pilots representative group Ialpa on Monday to discuss the issues outstanding from an independent arbitration ruling on January 8th by Kieran Mulvey.

These include matters relating to outsourcing, increments and the pilots’ pension scheme. The airline said it wanted to reach agreement by January 21st.

“We recognise the pilots may require certain clarifications and the company will be happy to respond to this,” Aer Lingus said. “We look forward to an early resolution of the outstanding issues and immediate implementation.”

Mr Mulvey has identified cost savings of €30 million among pilots. These include pay cuts of 10 per cent and 76 redundancies.
