LAST night some of Ireland's brightest business brains battled it out for the first prize in the Action Aid Brain Game challenge.

The quiz, sponsored by management consultants Vision, offered as first prize one of the last trophy crystals produced by Tipperary Crystal before it went into receivership. Hopefully many more will now be produced under Yeoman's ownership.

Among the competing teams in the FitzPatrick Hotel were the Rehab Foundation, architects Scott Tallon Walker, Overrend TTL and three teams from the Bank of Ireland. The target was to raise £20,000 for the Third World charity. The compere was none other than RTE's own Derek Davis. Wonder how the business brains compared to the Roses?
