London's Millennium Dome and the Legacy consortium which wants to buy it has hardly been out of the news in recent weeks. So it was with some amusement that the Margin read an interesting advertisement in the Financial Times this week.
Billed as the Dome's "One Amazing Auction" it gave details of a four-day sale of the Dome's contents at the end of this month. Goods going under the hammer include a fleet of internal handling and transport, scooters, retail merchandise and a host of other artifacts.
But also included are turnstiles and crowd control equipment. Given the fact that the Dome failed to attract anything like the crowds predicted, the Margin trusts that these items are being sold as new.
