Tech giant Intel has announced the appointment of two new Irish vice-presidents who will take up leadership roles within the company’s manufacturing, supply chains and operations organisation.
The appointment of Meath native Eamonn McGovern, who serves as general manager of manufacturing quality at the US multinational, and Seán O’Sullivan, Intel’s global head of corporate procurement, brings to 11 the number of Irish or Ireland-based vice-presidents at Intel, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
Based at Intel’s Leixlip campus, Mr McGovern had 35 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry, having worked at Fujitsu Microelectronics before joining Intel in 1991, it said.
Mr O’Sullivan, originally from Killarney, Co Kerry, was head of Intel’s corporate strategic procurement operation, having first joined the company in 1997. He had held a number of senior director positions within the company and, before his current role, was based at Intel’s operation in Arizona, the company said.

Intel has appointed a number of Irish people to vice-president roles in recent times, including Cork-born Dr Ann B Kelleher, who was named executive vice-president last year.
