OnePlus Pad: Android tablet squares up to the competition

With an unusual 7:5 aspect ratio and a green hue, this Chinese tablet dares to be different

Smartphone maker OnePlus announced back in February that it would be releasing a new tablet in the following weeks. Now it is almost here, with pre-orders open for the Android-based tablet that is set to ship next week.

OnePlus is doing things a little differently. The aspect ratio of the tablet is 7:5, a more squared-off display than you may have become used to. And forget about boring silver or black too; the OnePlus Pad only comes in green – Halo Green, according to OnePlus.

It has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board storage, and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip. Battery life is decent too, at about 14 hours according to OnePlus. But it also has super fast-charging, getting to 100 per cent in an hour.
