Clarke, who did not earn a place in the US Open and decided against competing in the Saint-Omer Open, is back in the top 100 by just 0.01 points.
Padraig Harrington remains the highest Irish player at 13th with Graeme McDowell in 68th and Paul McGinley 149th.
Lee Westwood's third place finish in Torrey Pines has moved him up only three
places on the world rankings from 20th to 17th.
Sergio Garcia is back as Europe's top-ranked player at sixth, one spot ahead of Justin Rose, while Tiger Woods reached 500 weeks as number one regardless of whether he won or lost his play-off with Rocco Mediate.
