BASKETBALL PREVIEW:THIS WEEKEND in the Nivea For Men's SuperLeague UCD Marian will take on reigning league and cup champions UL Eagles. The Limerick side will be anxious ahead of the game as they recorded their first loss against UCC Demons last weekend to fall to second place on the table.

Likewise, UCD will be desperate to return to winning ways after they were pipped by Dublin rivals DCU Saints even though they lead by double figures at half-time.

Killester will welcome Bord Gáis Neptune to the Irish Wheelchair Association in Clontarf. The northsiders are coming off a solid performance last weekend against Dublin Inter and will look to bring the same energy and focus when they meet the Cork side. Neptune will be equally confident after their victory over Moycullen, their first of the season.

Bank holiday Monday will see top-of-the-table UCC Demons face DCU Saints in the Mardyke Arena in Cork. Demons sent out a stern signal last weekend when they maintained their winning run with an impressive win over UL Eagles. DCU added another win to their season last weekend when they beat UCD Marian after a cameback in the second half.

In the Nivea Women’s SuperLeague DCU Mercy will be on the road as they travel to Cork where they will take on old rivals Team Montenotte Hotel Cork in Glanmire. Both teams have yet to lose a game this season so all is to play for as they fight to stay on top.

Other highlights include WIT Wildcats’ trip to Limerick as they take on reigning champions UL. Having failed to secure a win in overtime against DCU last weekend, Wildcats will be sure to leave it all out on the floor this weekend in search of a win.

Both Meteors and Singleton SuperValu Brunell have double weekends ahead. Brunell will see Killester in Dublin tomorrow night before they take on Meteors. Likewise, Meteors will face Ulster Rockets tomorrow night before they take on Brunell for the second time in two weeks the following day.
