Terenure will have to make a last minute decision on David Cazabon, writesThe full back damaged knee ligaments against Wesley College and missed the victory over Castleknock in the last round.
Belvedere Coll v Terenure Coll,
Donnybrook (4.15)
In his third year on the senior team, the presence of this year's captain would be a huge plus for the school as would the return of flanker Conor O'Hagan after his mandatory three-week rest following concussion.
If Cazabon doesn't make it Rob McCarthy is likely to continue at full back with Conor Doyle staying on the wing. Terenure were the only side to beat Belvedere in their pre-cup matches (9-5) but will need to improve significantly from their opening two games.
The same can be said for Belvedere, who accounted for St Michael's and Templeogue. They have had the tougher route and possess the individual talent in Cliff Murphy, Kevin Barden and Eamon Fitzgerald to sneak home.
St Mary's Coll v Blackrock Coll, Lansdowne Road
Tomorrow's encounter (4.15) is a repeat of last season's quarter-final won by St Mary's College (18-11), who went on to win the cup. The defending champions ousted a strongly fancied Clongowes team first time out and then enjoyed a facile win over CBC Monkstown.
Blackrock have advanced quietly to the penultimate stage, their progress steady rather than impressive. In centre Brian Canavan, scrumhalf Cillian Willis, wing David Blain and captain and flanker Keelan O'Toole have the experience of facing St Mary's last year.
The clash of Leinster colleagues Paul Nash (St Mary's) and O'Toole will be an interesting aside to the back-row battle. Both teams boast impressive set pieces but with the greater potential of the St Mary's back line, even though they have not gelled yet, they could squeeze into a second successive final.
