Tackling the touts

The All England Tennis Club appears to be one of the first establishments to crack down seriously on ticket touts

The All England Tennis Club appears to be one of the first establishments to crack down seriously on ticket touts. In order to enforce the law the club has taken out injunctions against a number of persistent touts in the lead up to this year's Wimbledon championships.

The action by the club has prevented the touts from selling tickets and has required them to hand over such tickets to the club's solicitors and also excludes them from coming within a certain radius of the club itself during the championships.

The club has also taken contempt of court proceedings against those touts who broke the injunctions which resulted in one case where the offender was ordered to pay £7,500 in costs alone. Are the IRFU, FAI, GAA listening?
