Stradbally are through to meet Kilmacud Crokes in their first ever AIB Leinster Senior Football Club Championship semi-final after holding out a late surge from Athlone at Pairc Chiarain on Saturday.

The only goal of the game came from a Gary Kavanagh strike after eight minutes.

The Laois champions held on despite excellent work from the home side's Ruairi O'Connor and Neil Dolan, with Greg Ramsbottom being named man of the match after scoring five points for Stradbally.
