Shamrock Rovers 4 Lisburn Distillery 2 (Rovers win 7-2 on aggregate):Shamrock Rovers booked their place in the semi-finals of the Setanta Sports Cup with a come from behind win against Lisburn Distillery on the night before running out comfortable winners 7-2 on aggregate.
The Irish League visitors went ahead at Tallaght Stadium through Gary Liggett after just 14 minutes. And though Distillery maintained the lead for much of the half, Rover equalised just before the break through Ciaran Kilduff
Just after the restart Stephen Rice added another for Rovers to effectively put the tie out of reach for Lisburn, who trailed 4-1 on aggregate.
The visitors, however, brought the game level on the night when Liggett fired home a second on 56 minutes to at least ask the question from Rovers.
However it was the home side who finished strongest and Paddy Kavanagh’s late brace in the final 10 minutes put the finishing touches on the win.
Rovers now go into tomorrow’s semi-final draw alongside Cliftonville, Dundalk and Sligo Rovers/Portadown.
