AC Milan have denied an agreement has been reached with Los Angeles Galaxy to keep David Beckham for the remainder of the season.
The England midfielder's short-term loan spell comes to an end on March 9th, and the Rossoneri have been attempting to hold on to the 33-year-old as they go for a top-four finish to secure Champions League football for the 2009-10 campaign.
"I have read that everything is resolved but that is not the case," said AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani on the clubs official website, www.acmilan.com. "The deal is not resolved.
"We are in fact working on the possibility that he remains on loan until June 30th but no agreement has been reached."
Beckham has made nine Serie A starts for AC Milan and struck twice since his arrival.
At the outset manager Carlo Ancelotti had no intention of playing Beckham, insisting the former England captain was “set to train with us for two months and I didn’t think about playing him.”
He added: "Then, I saw how he trained and I had no choice.
"We tried to get him four years earlier and two years ago but the negotiations faded away.
"I can say he is a great player but not a formidable one, although he has won me over with his performances and his character."
The former Manchester United star has expressed his wish to remain at AC Milan until the end of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Galliani has moved to defuse comments he made yesterday that appeared to hint playmaker Kaka could be bound for Real Madrid.
The Brazilian, according to the Spanish press, is a target of Real should Florentino Perez be reinstated as president of the Spanish club.
Yesterday, Galliani said that nothing could ever be ruled out when Perez is involved but was adamant today that "Kaka is not for sale, he is not transferable."
The 26-year-old Kaka is under contract with the Rossoneri outfit until June 2013.
