Milan complete Ronaldo signing

Italian giants AC Milan have completed the signing of Real Madrid striker Ronaldo

Italian giants AC Milan have completed the signing of Real Madrid striker Ronaldo. After lengthy negotiations, the 30-year-old Brazil international today agreed an 18 month contract with the Rossoneri.

A transfer fee has yet to be announced but it is reported to be in the region of €7.5million.

Ronaldo had fallen out of favour at Real and was eager to return to Serie A, where he had mixed fortunes with Milan's city rivals Internazionale between 1997 and 2002.

Despite his troubles at the Bernabeu, Real boss Fabio Capello wished Ronaldo well at the San Siro.

"I know Ronaldo is a Milan player. I wish him the best of luck," said Capello. "I hope he does what he is capable of, which is to be a great player."

A three-time FIFA World Player of the Year, Ronaldo won the Primera Liga crown in his first year in the Spanish capital.

But subsequent seasons were less successful with the player often struggling for form and fitness. And Capello's decision to opt for a more youthful, athletic Madrid side eventually forced him out.

Ronaldo started his career at Brazilian side Cruzeiro before joining PSV Eindhoven. After shining at the Philips Stadion he secured a move to Barcelona, where he became a household name, before an injury-plagued spell at Inter.
