Shamrock Rovers have moved third in the eircom Premier League thanks to two late goals against Waterford United at Tolka Park.

Rovers looked for a long time like they might have blown their chance to move ahead of Bohemians but an 81st minute goal from Ger Rowe and a Tadhg Purcell penalty five minutes later sealed the points for Pat Scully's side.

Two second half goals from Roy O'Donovan gave Cork City a win over Galway United at Terryland Park, after Derek O'Brien had given the hosts a 14th minute lead.

O'Donovan struck in the 54th and 74th minute to seal the points for the Leesiders who stay fifth, four points behind Bohs and with two games in hand.
