SPL review:Kyle Lafferty grabbed the only goal of the game as Rangers avenged last month's defeat against Hearts with a slender 1-0 Clydesdale Bank Premier League victory at Ibrox.
Lafferty pounced in the opening minutes to claim what proved to be the decisive goal, before El-Hadji Diouf was handed an earlier-than-anticipated debut following his transfer deadline day move.
The win allowed Rangers to move to within five points of SPL leaders Celtic, with two games in hands over their rivals.
Derek Riordan and David Wotherspoon ended Hibernian's search for a first goal of 2011 and their first win since November as their second-half strikes secured a valuable 2-0 win over St Mirren.
Riordan's 63rd-minute strike was Hibs' first goal since the 2-2 draw with Dundee United on December 29 and Wotherspoon added a second in stoppage time to end a 12-match winless run.
The result handed manager Colin Calderwood a record of three wins and 12 losses from 18 matches in charge and took Hibs above Saints to 10th place in the table.
David Silva's late header against Motherwellgave Kilmarnockall three points in a 1-0 triumph at Fir Park.
After a dull first half the game livened up and Well keeper Darren Randolph made a fine save from Rui Miguel, before Steven Hammell beat Killie keeper Cameron Bell with a free-kick from 25 yards only to see the ball hit the crossbar on its way over.
However, in the 81st minute Killie defender Tim Clancy sent in a great cross from the right which allowed Silva to knock in the winner from close range, before Rugby Park skipper Garry Hay picked up a straight red card for a foul on Chris Humphrey.
The game between Invernessand Dundee Unitedwas postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The match, set to take place at the Caledonian Stadium, was called off by referee Steven McLean following a pitch inspection on Wednesday afternoon.
A new date for the fixture will be announced by the SPL in due course.
