League Cup: Defending champions Derry City eased into the last eight of the eircom League Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over Finn Harps at the Brandywell this evening.

A first-half strike from Conor Sammon eased the Candystripes into their stride before a 48th effort from Niall McGinn, and a second from Sammon, sealed a berth in the quarter-finals for Stephen Kenny's men.

In tonight's other matches, Bohemians made no mistake against Dundalk, winning 4-0, while Bray Wanderers were made to fight hard for their 1-0 win over Shamrock Rovers.

Earlier today, Drogheda United progressed after a 2-0 win over Shelbourne. Tony Grant fired the visitors ahead at Tolka Park, getting on the end of a Paul Keegan free-kick to beat Dean Delaney from close range.

And substitute Shane Robinson ensured Drogheda's passage ten minutes from time, guiding his effort past Delaney.

Also through are Wexford Youths, a brace from Conor Sinnott helping them overcome Kerry League 2-0 at Ferrycarrig Park.
