The Shark struck for the first time in the history of the Shark Shootout yesterday as Greg Norman made a triumphant return from injury with a win in the event he hosts.

Norman teamed with fellow Australian Steve Elkington to win the $1.3 million-dollar event at the third play-off hole.

Norman rolled in the winning putt to defeat the pairing of Peter Jacobsen and John Cook. But it was Elkington who stuck his approach at the par-four 18th to within two feet.

"This is a perfect place for me to come back, at a team event," said Norman. "I felt the rush, which I needed to feel."
