Saratoga Springs was yesterday cut to 20 to 1 from 33 to 1 for the Vodafone Derby by bookmakers Coral.
"Saratoga Springs has high-class two-year-old form to his name, and if declared a certain Derby contender, will attract huge support from the British betting public," said Coral's spokesman Simon Clare.
Other Derby betting action concerned Haami and Dr Fong. Haami was the subject of solid backing yesterday morning and Coral cut his price to 12 to 1 from 14 to 1, while Dr Fong was trimmed to 20 to 1 from 25 to 1 by the same firm.
King Of Kings was yesterday given an official rating of 122 for winning the 2,000 Guineas. Explaining the figure, British Horse-racing Board handicapper Dominic Gardiner-Hill said: "All I can do is reflect the performance on the day.
"My gut feeling is that when the International Classifications come round in December, with a whole season behind us, he may well be higher.
"But only eight lengths covered the first 10 horses home on Saturday and as it is I have put up the second, third, fifth, sixth and seventh. If I were to rate King Of Kings any higher than I would have to put the likes of Haami (fifth) up 11lb for that run."
Lend A Hand, runner-up to King Of Kings on Saturday, will go for the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, trainer Mark Johnston confirmed yesterday. Derek Haydn Jones still has high hopes for Crazee Mental after his star filly finished 10th in Sunday's Sagitta 1,000 Guineas.
He now plans to send Crazee Mental to the Curragh for the 1,000 Guineas on May 23rd.
