A POINT by Sean Ryan four minutes from time earned Clare a deserved draw with Waterford in the Munster minor hurling semi final at Thurles last evening. Clare got an early boost with Cathal McKeogh goal after four minutes, but Ken McGrath netted a 25 yard free for Waterford in the 18th minute and they led 1-10 to 1-6 at the interval.

A Rory Walsh goal for Waterford eight minutes into the second half put them in the driving seat. Clare never gave up and a Sean ban goal in the 22nd minuteral lied them. Ryan himself provided the equaliser four minutes from the end.

It was a fitting result. Clare's best were Enda Flannery Alan Duggan, Alan Markham, Gearoid O'Donnell and Sean Ryan. For Waterford, Brendan Landers David Ryan, Garry Calliaan, Ken, McGrath and Rory Walsh caught the eye.
