Rugby:Munster have confirmed that prop BJ Botha will be sidelined for up to a month following the calf injury he sustained in Friday's clash with Wasps at Musgrave Park.
Botha was forced to retire in the 28th minute and medical examination confirmed he had suffered a calf tear that will see him miss Munster's opening games in the RaboDirect Pro12 League that begins on September 3rd with the game against The Dragons in Cork.
There was good news for James Coughlan, however, after he was given the all clear after being forced to retire with an eye injury. The backrow is available to be named in the squad for Friday's clash with London Irish as is Tomás O’Leary who trained with the squad this morning after his omission from the World Cup squad.
Darragh Hurley (Achilles) and Development player Troy Smith (cruciate) will not be considered for that game. Johne Murphy is also out after he damaged a hamstring playing with the Ireland Select XV but he does expect to be in contention for a place in the squad for the Dragons game.
