Scotland head coach Frank Hadden may need to find new assistants for the autumn Tests after Andy Robinson and Sean Lineen confirmed they are reluctant to keep working with the national team.

Former England boss Robinson is determined to focus on his leadership duties with Edinburgh, while Lineen wants to channel his efforts into his job as coach of Glasgow Warriors.

The pair signed up to coach on Scotland's trip to Argentina and added much-valued experience to the set-up, but following the drawn series they have both made it clear to their full-time employers, the Scottish Rugby Union, that their clubs should come first.

Robinson said in the Daily Mail: "I have really enjoyed being here in Argentina but I have a role to play with Edinburgh. It is a key role for me.

"I have loved my involvement with Edinburgh. That is a key focus and the most important focus for me."

He added: "There are a lot of quality people out there who can potentially step in and do the role that myself and Sean have done working with Frank."

Lineen explained: "While the end-of-season tour to Argentina was fine, you can't combine a national squad with the professional team job right through the normal season."
